The East Coast Basketball League have announced the addition of the Columbia Crusaders who will begin play in the 2015 ECBL season. The Crusaders played last season in the Community Basketball League in addition to playing exhibition games against ECBL teams as part of their application process.

The Crusaders are brought to the league by Kristen Dickerson, former star point guard for Heathwood Hall Episcopal High School and Francis Marion University. Kristen comes from a serious basketball heritage; her father Jerome played for Allen University and now coaches the Palmetto 76ers; her mother Sandra Dickerson played for Columbia College; her older sister Brionna played for the University of South Carolina; her younger sister Victoria is now playing for Benedict College.

“I’m very excited to be a part of a league that takes pride in its professionalism," said Dickerson. "I’ve wanted to make a impact in my city and the East Coast Basketball League is going to help me do that.”
